Potential Changes to Employee Overtime

The Department of Labor is expected to release final changes to federal regulations governing overtime under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). These changes will affect federal overtime rules and will impact which of your employees will be eligible for overtime. An update specific for California companies is forthcoming, and we will share more information as it is made available. The proposed changes to the overtime federal regulations could make some of your current employees no longer exempt from overtime pay. The proposal also includes an increase in salary level for highly compensated employees and would establish an automatic update every year of both the salary and compensation levels.
